Living the ‘One Another’ Life

Today, we’ll explore John, the son of Zebedee. The Gospel of John was written somewhere around 80 A.D., to a broad audience including the Jews of the day. John presents, through his eye-witness accounts, that Jesus is the eternal Word of God made flesh. His writings are clear, yet the depth of his account reveals John had a pastoral heart. John doesn’t just want the readers of his words to have saving faith, he wants them to grow, richly rooted and well informed, so that their faith can endure hardships.

John 13:33-35 (KJV)

33
– Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

34 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 – By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
